The report on the condition of rural areas must have multi-disciplinary structure and show the rural reality in a comprehensive way.
Foundation for the Development of Polish Agriculture presents „Rural Poland 2010. Rural Development Report” edited by prof. J.Wilkin and dr I.Nurzyńska.
Authors of the report present the most important processes, which have the greatest impact on the rural areas in Poland. This report comprises chapters, which discuss zones of phenomena which are:
 • economic and agricultural,
 • demographic,
 • social,
 • cultural,
 • environmental.
The last chapter is a new element in the report; it contains remarks by sociologists and economists on the most important changes which took place in rural areas in Poland during the system transformation and European integration. See www.fdpa.org.pl

The Library building (2009) CBR is a scientific library subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. It has branch in Pulawy. CBR collections - thematically restricted to agriculture, food processing industry and related sciences - numbers about 380,000 volumes of publications, including 207,000 books, 131,000 journals and 42,000 special collections. CBR has 598 titles of current periodicals. The library also conducts a lively international exchange with 50 institutions in 30 countries, additionally enriching its collections. The collections of old prints (798 volumes) and FAO publications have been separated from the main collection.

cbr creates three own bases: the Agricultural Bibliographic Information System SIGŻ and the Agricultural Research Information System SIBROL.
CBR also subscribes bases CAB Abstracts i LEX and has an access to foreign full-text databases: SpringerLink, ScienceDirect i Ebscohost.
 
 

cbr The Central Agricultural Library is a deposit library of FAO, and the only place in Poland where all FAO publications, both traditional and electronic ones are stored. On our web site there is a link to AGRIS-FAO database, which contains information on the Polish agricultural publications, prepared by the CBR as well as research and academic centres. We invite you to visit the information management centre on WAICENT portal, which gives access to documents, statistical data, maps and other multimedia sources concerning agriculture and related sciences.
 
 

cbr has created and relate to current interests AgroWeb Poland, which is providing www links to home pages of agricultural institutions and other important agriculture related subjects. It is a part of international AgroWeb CEE Network, which creation was initiated by FAO-SEUR. AgroWeb facilitate direct linkage with analogical pages of Central and Eastern Europe countries.
 
 

cbr is an international association of agricultural information specialists IAALD .
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of accession to the organization's Library was awarded the Silver membership IAALD
 
 

cbr is a member of the AGLINET, international network of agricultural libraries, now affiliating fifty-five agricultural libraries from over fifty countries and international scientific centres. Under the AGLINET system all the member libraries pursue inter-library loans and on demand send copies of articles and offer bibliographic services to other member libraries free of charge or at a considerable rebate.

If a book or a title of the journal with an article that you need is not available in Poland, it is enough for you to give us a library lending form and we will bring for you the book or the copy of the article from one of the AGLINET libraries.

 
 

cbr collects foreign doctor's and assistant professor's agricultural theses in English published by Europe's best agricultural universities: in Wageningen (Holand), Leuven (Belgium), Uppsala (Sweden) i Bonn (Germany).
