Workshop II Agro Web CEE Partnership in the V4 Countries  was held at the Central Agricultural Library (CBR) in Warsaw, 27-28th June 2001. This workshop is jointly organized by: FAO Subregional Office for Central and Eastern Europe (SEUR) Godollo AgriBusiness Centre (GAK Kht.) Central Statistical Library in Warsaw Central Agricultural Library in Warsaw.

is a scientific library subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. It has two branches in Pulawy and Bydgoszcz. CBR collections - thematically restricted to agriculture, food processing industry and related sciences - numbers about 417,000 volumes of publications, including 235,000 books, 139,000 journals and 42,000 special collections. CBR has 838 titles of current periodicals. 
The library also conducts a lively international exchange with 135 institutions in forty-five countries, additionally enriching its collections. The collections of old prints (798 volumes) and FAO publications have been separated from the main collection.
CBR has also subscribed to five databases on electronic media and creates its three own bases: the Agricultural Bibliographic Information System   SIGŻ,   the Agricultural Research Information System  SIBROL and InfoRol - Online Catalogue of Polish Agricultural Internet Resources. 
 
 

is a deposit library of FAO publications and Poland's only institution storing all the FAO publications, both traditional and electronic ones. CBR readers can also use the AGRIS-FAO database in English, French and Spanish. The database information on Polish publications is being prepared by CBR and twelve Polish scientific and academic centres. 
 
 

is a member of the AGLINET, international network of agricultural libraries, now affiliating fifty-five agricultural libraries from over fifty countries and international scientific centres. Under the AGLINET system all the member libraries pursue inter-library loans and on demand send copies of articles and offer bibliographic services to other member libraries free of charge or at a considerable rebate. 

If a book or a title of the journal with an article that you need is not available in Poland, it is enough for you to give us a library lending form and we will bring for you the book or the copy of the article from one of the AGLINET libraries.

uses the services of the EBSCO Publishing firm, thanks to which a reader can study over 3,000 titles of electronic journals through CBR local network. The data on these journals contain the tables of contents and abstracts of articles. In the case of some of these journals, to which CBR subscribed, available are full texts of articles covering two-three years period. Via  EBSCO   the reader can also use thematical databases. 
 
 

collects foreign doctor's and assistant professor's agricultural theses in English published by Europe's best agricultural universities: in Wageningen (Holland), Leuven (Belgium), Uppsala (Sweden) and Bonn (Germany). 
 
 

enables its readers to follow the course of worldwide electronic conferences and even to take part in them.
